*****

I hope you have a Merry little Christmas.
I'm on tour with Kelly & Nester!

to: his pretty little wife

No doubt you have heard me say things about A-man's "pretty little wife"?  We speak of her as though she is in the other room.  I mention her at the slight roll of the eyes about my dinner selection... like pinto beans.  When I serve him I say "now would you do that to your pretty little wife if she made beans for you?"  "No Ma'am, but I sure hope her mommy is teaching her how to make eggs." he says.  Tonight at ballet {we are starting TECH WEEK this weekend which is the final frontier to the recital... Heaven Help Us All!!}, A-man said "I hope my pretty little wife does not like ballet!"  I had to laugh knowing full well that if she did- he would too.  It's who he is.  It's who his Daddy is!

Today is my sweet helpmate's 40th b-day..  We celebrated in true Harris fashion... only a little less publicly.  My sweet Jo-bo prefers just us.  He says "he would choose the 3 of us out of the whole entire world to celebrate with"- and I truly believe him.

A-man and I decided to make him a jar of 40+ reasons why we {heart} him.  I cut the slips of paper and grabbed a pencil.  A-man pulled up a chair.  Then 10 minutes later {I kid you NOT} we were all out of paper and still thinking of things we loved about Joey.  I mean that's the kind of guy he is!

Mostly...

We enjoy him!

He loves Jesus!

He's kind!

He makes things more fun!

He's easy going!

He doesn't care what others think!

He likes eggs!

I feel like I pray for my children's helpmates as often as I think of  them {which is often}.  But... his "pretty little wife"- she gets extra!  I know her momma is training her up this very minute to be the perfect compliment for my sweet A-man.  And so I feel certain that she will know how to cook eggs.

Little Anna...

Frozen is 2 weeks away... makes me nervous to even say that!  Prissy is dancing even in her sleep... I'm sure.  I am working on cast party stuff and mending costumes as they come in.  It's all a delicate balance of talent, grit, and pure insanity.

*****

But... she's little Anna!

*****

I wish  y'all could hear the conversations we have on the way home from late rehearsals.  How she's "nervous and giddy all at once".  About how she looks up to the "big girls".   Or how she gave up a show so that her sweet friend {her understudy} could dance too...  It makes me cry to even hear her talk about it.  My heart can't hardly take how much I love this child.  She's my little Prissy.

And... I'm so proud of her!!

*****

I think she was destined for this role...

*****

She's morphing into Anna as we speak...

Halloween 2014

Was another fun one!

We did the usual- dinner at the clubhouse, costume contest, then hayride trick or treating....

 LOVE our neighborhood!!!

*****

Prissy was Little Anna..

*****

A-man was a brave Knight!

*****

Jo-bo was a zombie

{and let me just say... the man got himself ready and did a FINE job!!}

*****

I was??  Not really sure.. just threw this on ;-)

*****

Aren't they presh!

*****

And Cooner was here- we loved having her!

*****

Or super cool neighbors were Hunger Game Peeps!  They are so fun!!

*****

SO FUN!!!!

*****

I was a mean momma and declared that we must "use what we have this Halloween and NOT buy anything" gasp!!!!  I know - worst mother ever... right?  Well.  We all had a ball and no one asked us if our costumes were new or old :)

Halloween BUNCO!

October was my month to host our neighborhood BUNCO!

So... my theme was of course

HALLOWEEN!!!

*****

I decked out the Dining room with the help of the kiddos!

*****

I went easy with the food- Mexican.

*****

Witches Brew of course!

and I gave out these fake teeth {blue box in picture}- seriously the HARDEST that I have EVER laughed... I so wish we had taken more pics of those being worn.

*****

Here is my JoBo....

I nearly pee myself every time I see this :)

*****

lastly... the costume!

The kiddos settled on Cleopatra.

I tried on a dozen things from our dress-up box- she was the winner.  + she was FREE- no doubt she was morphed from Prissy's 2nd grade Egyptian project and an angel costume... with a touch of gold trim and a pair of A-man's pirate clip on earrings...

a labor of love!

*****

We had a blast!!!

Prissy named the zombie bride as "2014 BUNCO Halloween Queen".  We all agreed!  Melissa bought a wedding gown from Goodwill and cut it up the shreds..

She so got my vote too :)

A southern BBQ teacher luncheon...

My sweet friend Shayne and I are taking on the teacher luncheons again this year!  It has been great fun {and I genuinely mean that} but we are stepping down after this year- thus we must go out in a bang.  This years first quarter luncheon was a Southern BBQ theme...

*****

We had pulled pork and all the fix in's

*****

checkered pennants all over everywhere :)
and what shindig would be complete without a grapevine chandy???

*****

a photo booth...

with a cameo from my cowboy
{I still can not bring myself to part with him from A-man's 5th b-day}

*****

and a s'more bar...

*****

 YES!

 I said
 a S'more Bar-
with gourmet chocolates and all kinds of fancy!!

*****

I think they liked it ;)

YEE-HAW!
