"my 100th post.."

Well.... we are back home from the beach... our plants are very sad (they have been a little neglected) & so are we!!! It is good to be home, but we had a blast together. I got to shop & see just how out-of-touch I really am with fashion... But not to worry. We all updated a little bit & got some amazing deals @ the outlets. One thing that I really saw & loved were these super fun chunky beaded rings. Have ya'll seen them? Well I couldn't find any that I loved or that were at a price I loved... But once we got home & unpacked I had a brain storm... Could I make one???? I quickly asked Priss for permission to rummage through her dress-up jewelry box (odds & ends that have been collected even before there was a Priss). I found the perfect gaudy clip-on earrings. I glued them to some fun "mood rings" (do you remember those?) that I found @ the beach for cheap cheap. They look amazing!!!!!!!! Better than I could have even shopped for. So today is your lucky day too friends.......... I am gonna give one of the pair away in honor of my 100th post. Send me a comment or e-mail & I'll let Priss pick later this week. "bon voyage.."

Well... after MUCH preparation, list making, & packing. We are ready to leave on holiday for the beach. Josey & I have fresh pedicures & manicures- now we just need some sand to walk on & show them off!!!! I can't wait to see how much fun the kiddos have this year @ the water park. Last year Priss was just old/tall enough to go on the "little water slide"- she has been praying for a growth spurt.... I will fill ya'll in on the outcome. Hope you have a wonderful week too. please keep us in your prayers- may we have a safe, sickness-free, fun, & relaxing time together. I look forward to this every summer. I am sooo thankful for family trips- I know that someday soon they will be grown & wanting to do something WAY cooler than play with us on the beach.... But until then.... I want to make the most of today with them!!!!!!!!!!!!

"a mini maya wrap in minutes"

Priss (like every cool momma) notices EVERYTHING when it comes to babies. Yesterday morning she called out, "Momma wait til you see what I made. Wa-La don't I look just like Miss Jenny?" "Yes", I replied just like her. I was blown away at her take on the popular Maya Baby Wrap. So much so, that I ran to my scrap bag & made her a custom one of her own. She was so proud that she toted it to the dentist, the market, & even the pool. Who knew that 5 minutes & a piece of fabric could bring that much joy to my Priss? By the way.... I have another craft list to execute then we will get back to some fun summer projects soon.............

don't you love how their little minds think? They aren't interested the most expensive or the best brands- they just use what they have. I LOVE 5yr olds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. Priss asked me to be her "girl-of-honor" when she gets married.... I of course said "YES, but you do have time to change your mind Love." "Momma I won't change me mind, I'm going to let my yes mean yes like Jesus says!"

My A-man is following in his father's footsteps very quickly. He has recently taken a HUGE interest in the EYE world & all things "MAGNIFIED"..... He is so serious with them & I'm told by a very reliable source (Priss) that he loves to play in the office when he goes with his daddy. I had to share a glimpse of his day on the job....

p.s.- it is time for our 6 month dentist check-up today... If you think of it, please say a little prayer for us. Josey thinks that they are going to pull her 1 loose tooth and is terrified, & Ashton is meeting Dr. Hudson for the 1st time (he has no idea whats in store for him). I'm sure he will make a great impression- ha!!!!!!!!!

"drum-roll PLEASE!"

Are ya'll ready for this??? last night.... my little A-man....... went PEE PEE in the big-boy potty!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We nearly scared him to death with ALL the "support" we screamed during & afterwards. He LOVED it- high-5-ing ALL of us. It was so funny how it happened. I have been trying to get him to sit down (I thought that would be easier), but he prefers standing... Who knew? Anyway- this does NOT mean that I am throwing the diapers out, but at least I know that he can (if he wants..)!!!! Praise God for tiny miracles too. I think we will start the potty-parties next week & maybe pick up some big boy undies @ the beach..... Does anyone have any tips for boys & potty training???

"his sweet surrender.."

well it happened.... after much begging & pleading..... A-man finally agreed to wear the crown for his beloved Priss. It really has been a battle between the two of them. She wants her own space to dance & play (she constantly wants him to be the prince if he plays with her), but he wants to play with her ALL the time (on his OWN terms- like with cars involved). So I have started (just now) to let them work things out by themselves. I heard the commotion finally die down, then quietly tip-toed into the living room.... only to find a very broken little boy wearing a crown & a very proud little girl playing cars...... I wonder what his daddy will say when he hears of this????? I will tell him that he put up a very good fight!



please keep the "with child" girls in your prayers- Kristy, Michelle, & Brooke. They are getting very close to helping God out with their first little miracles...... Have a great weekend!!!!!!!

"thankful THURSDAYS-5.."

It remains in the 90's here so its easy to say what we are thankful for today...... the POOL!!!!!!!! I love having one in our neighborhood. I am thankful for Mr. Bantz- who does all the upkeep. It looks so beautiful & clean everyday!!!! The kiddos adore it & love hanging out with their buddies. Although I must say this summer is already much different than last- Ashton is fearless. You may all add that to your prayer lists for me- keeping Ashton safe this summer!!!!!!!! Josey is a little fish- swimming everywhere. Ya'll come on over & swim with us anytime.....

p.s.- gone are the days of this float- he decided he didn't need it anymore after this picture was taken. I guess it was too SAFE for him. He much prefers jumping in off the side & playing on the steps.......
