Did y'all know that this week is- Teacher Appreciation & Nurses Week!! Happy Nurses Week to ALL my sisters on 2-Neurology and my BFF Kristy & Happy Teachers Appreciation to ALL of my kiddos teachers & my SIL Michelle!!! This year we took the easy way out- gift cards for the teachers {a collective project from several students=BIG blessing}. But.... I wanted to do something little just from us to show them how much they are appreciated.... but I needed 10!!! So I decided to put a spin on an old idea..... I'm hoping they like theirs as much as I {heart} mine!!!
*****
I made plastic bag holders for the car- am I the only one that uses 10 a week.... wet swimsuits, trash bags, Lego containers, extra market bags {when the one you get is busted}, & my favorite- PUKE bags!!!
*****
I usually recycle aluminum foil rolls {they are a bit more sturdy than paper towel rolls}, but again I needed 10! Then I remembered the multi purposes of PVC pipe. I have more curtains hanging by the stuff than I care to mention.... So I scooted to Lowes found a piece for $2.00 & had them cut it into [10] foot long pieces for me {free}....
*****
Next I picked out some pretty paper from Michaels {on sale- 5 sheets for $1.00}.
*****
Then I sanded the rough edges off of the tubes, measured the paper, & taped it ALL the way around with clear box tape {this protects it from wear & tear}. Then I finished them up with pretty ribbon & some fresh plastic bags of course!
*****
Finally I put a little "Thank You" tag on each & personalized them a bit! There ya have it- functional, cute, & as if that's not enough-
I think $3.00 for 10 gifts is pretty fantastic!
