"day 4 already...."

My girlfriends are so precious to me, but often I forget to tell them! I get pretty wrapped up in this life of mine & forget that being a good friend is what makes "good friendships". They have been so wonderful to me over the years. We share advice about life, love, & ALL thing child-related. I only recently came across these pics. They are from my bed rest stint. Joey organized a little non-slumber/slumber party for me. They ALL came in their PJ's with a fun snacks & we watched classic 80's movies. It meant SO much to me. We all got together last night (we try to do it quarterly).. I just want to say how much I love you gals- you are the BEST!!!!

well.. when I picked her up- it went something like this:

(me) "so how was your 1st day of 1st grade?"
(her) "It was MARVELOUS Momma!!!! I even met a new girl. She's so nice & we have the very same bible- can you believe it?'
(me) "GREAT- what is her name?"
(her) "hmmm I forget, but we got 2 recesses"
(me) "WOW 2 recesses- I knew that 1st grade was gonna be great"
(her) "really??? I wasn't sure, but I know now that it IS!"

(me) "well what did you learn today?"
(her) "we learned the rules of the classroom & hey Momma- I have decided something.."
(me) "o-ya what?"
(her) "I think tomorrow I am gonna have daddy drop me off @ the curb & walk in all by myself. I know the way, my class has fish on the door!"
(me) "well let's see what daddy says, you may need help with the door..." (with a GIANT lump in my throat- I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This time last year- she was afraid to go to the bathroom @ school & now this??)
(her) "CHRISTINA- that's her name.. It's Christina- she walks in all by herself Momma. But you know what?"
(me) "what's that love?"
(her) "her Momma doesn't put notes in her lunch............"

p.s. Joey said he thinks that it's a good idea to continue to walk her into her class. PRAISE GOD for sentimental husbands!!!!!!!

"1st day of 1st grade.."

well.... I made it through drop-off. I held back the tears until it was time to say goodbye. Priss hugged my neck & motioned for me to hear a secret... She whispered "Momma don't forget to come back for me O-kay!" "No worries my love- I will be right back- you just have a FABULOUS day!" I quickly said (pulling my sunglasses down so she would not see the tears). I LOVE THAT CHILD. I asked Joey last night if it would be too forward to express my LOVE for her to Mrs. White & that "I expected her to take impeccable care of her in my absence." He said it was... so I didn't..... I pray blessings over their day & that GOD holds her even when I can not.....

"1st grade orientation..."

we had 1st grade orientation last night. Priss & I met Mrs. white-

she is precious (Priss loves her sassy glasses..). I know that they will get along wonderfully. Josey is soo excited about today. I will fill ya'll in on drop-off tomorrow. Keep me in your payers- my heart is VERY heavy... I think that I should have sent a sweater- the room seemed chilly this morning??? I know that I forgot tons of things, but she will be fine.. right????

"calm before the STORM..."

well... we are back from the beach. We had such a great time with the Hayes'. As soon as we got back- Joey started feeling "a little sick"- which QUICKLY turned into "maybe I should go to the hospital & get fluids".. which thankfully ended with me calling in a favor to get some anti-nausea medicine- which resulted in him trying to go to work today??? Anyway I have a BIG day today starting with laundry & LYSOL- then ending with 1st grade orientation tonight. Here are a few pics from the week- ENJOY!!!!!!!!
