"cutie-pies"

Sooo in the spirit of all things Valentine- I made these little "cutie pies" for a special dessert tonight. I started with store bought pie crust (a first for me Cooner- PLEASE do not be disappointed!!).

I used a round cookie cutter to make tiny pie shells.

Gently push & ruffle them into a mini muffin pan.

Next fill them with cherry pie filling.

Then use the scraps of pie crust to make them Valentine fancy..
I do not have a tiny heart cookie cutter- I cut these hearts out freestyle & they look it! I recommend cutters, but I do LOVE the XXOX (I had originally thought of making a lattice- NO WAY!).

Finally bake @ 350 for about 15 min.

Then we bundled up (Lucy t00)...

and delivered some to our neighbors-
& ate some on the way...

"chocolate boxes"

I am getting ready for a super fancy Valentine dinner party & thought that I would give each guest a little Valentine chocolate box. Now... where would I find such a thing.. small, inexpensive, & fancy??? Then I thought about using little matchboxes! You can get 10 for about $1.00 & use whatever Valentine ribbon & scraps that you have. They turned out precious!!!

Although I recommend NOT filling them with Valentine candy until the day of your party....

A-man & I ate ALL of their YUMMY Valentine contents this afternoon...
SHH don't tell on us!!!

p.s. Prissy's 1st questions this morning- "Momma did the Colts win the game?" "NO ma'am- we didn't" I said (a little sad)... "Well at least we got second- and that's pretty good too!!!" she chimed in.... AHH the perspective of a 6yr old!

"a pin for Priss"

(Joey gave my this little picture of him on our 1st Valentine's day...)

Soooo ya'll know how much I ADORE my flower pin!!! Priss has taken a liking to her too- so I was very VERY happy to oblige her by making her a Valentine version to wear whenever she pleases...

~Valentine Rose Pin~

you'll need:
felt (@ 15 cents a sheet- this is so worth it!), tulle (optional- I had red left over from Christmas wrapping), & thread (but NOT your machine- yeah!!)

First I cut the pedal shapes out... then I decided to re-cut them with my pinky-shears. I LOVED this look even better! Stack them up until you like what ya see..

Then hand stitch them together through the center.
(and YES I still have my pj's on!!!)

Next pinch them & stitch through the pedals again.

Finally add them to something just "o-kay" & make it "FABULOUSLY Valentiney"!

...like a plain pink head band...

...or a plain red hair bow...

...or a little hair clip...

...or a pink scarf...

...or your little brother...
SHAMELESS!!!!

HAPPY CRAFTING!!!

p.s. DENTIST UPDATE:
A-man was a perfect gentleman...

"He is better than most 4 yr olds that we see & I think he is precious" so said Dr. Monroe...
(I couldn't agree more!)

p.s.s. My handsome nephew Tyler is on the Homecoming court tonight @ his high school. NO matter what happens tall Harris boy- you are KING to us!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

"the skinny on the sign..."

Well... hold on to your computers when ya'll hear this one! About a month ago my husband said "hey I think we should sell our house" very calmly while driving to our home group's bible study (no doubt he knew that Catherine & Jodi would know just what to say to calm my fears). Then about 2 weeks ago he called & got a realtor... Now we have this big red sign in front of our house & I feel the need to swish my toilets EVERYDAY (yikes)! I am trusting in God- this is still such a shock to me... We brought both of our babies home to this house- we LOVE our neighbors- we love this house & ALL of the sweet memories in it!!! It's going to be good right? Living closer to our friends, school, church, the market... Then why am I having such BIG concerns???? I guess this is one of those little things that the bible calls "trials"- I really do not LOVE trials, but I know that I should... They (after all) are "developing perseverance making me mature & complete"... Keep us in your prayers- we want His will & NOT ours to be done!

p.s. We are ONLY moving into town... NOT back to IN. I'm not sure if that was clear from my ramblings??? Priss was heartbroken when she saw the sign. A-man laughed & pointed saying "BIG.. WOW.... BYE BYE"!!!!

On a side note: we finished up the dining room table & built-ins. I LOVE the white- so clean & fresh looking... Now- what to paint next????

and 1 of my favorite brown eyed boys has his very 1st dentist appointment today.... He is very excited now... I hope that his enthusiasm lasts until he is out of the chair???

"her 2010 Valentine"

Well.. in keeping to my theme of using their interests for their Valentines- we are making IPods. They so remind me of her & how grown she is getting + she adores her iPod!!! In the past we have made: lollipops (wand shaped of course for my little Princess), barbie & the 12 dancing princesses (I loved that year- she wore her costume to the Valentine's day party) , kissing mice (inspired by Cinderella- she also wore her costume to that Valentine party- so fun!), & last year we made a little cartoon of her with a big red hair bow & gave out Valentine bracelets (my favorite until this year). Here is a look @ her 2010 Valentine...

We used:
Valentine gift wrap, Valentine Sweetheart boxed candy, Valentine chocolate candy (for the ear buds), Valentine colored yarn.

First we taped one end of the Valentine yarn to the candy box.

Next we covered the candy box with Valentine paper.

Then we added the Valentine ILove-Ipod decals (I made these in word press & printed them out).

Finally we added the Valentine candy hearts (ear buds).

"his 2010 Valentine"

I like to theme their Valentines around what they love that year (it is fun to look back & see what they liked & how their interests change). Well by now ya'll know that NOTHING makes A-man's heart skip a beat like a little car... So for his Valentine (although I love homemade..) he chose these little store bought (gasp) sticker race car Valentines & we tied little red & white cars onto them. I think his little classmates from music class will be very excited... that's IF he actually parts with them???? Here is a look @ his very 1st Valentine...
