1-2-3-4....

well y'all... I don't have anything stunningly brilliant to report- except.
1.  ballet has begun = 4 DAYS A WEEK...

*****

Is she worth it??

*****

"YES" she is....
And she LOVES it even more than last year.

*****

2.  He is really starting to "like maybe love" Kindergarten!
  Praise Jesus!!  I was about to fill out a substitute teacher application and stay there with him.  His homework this week was his "family tree".  He made us all out of Legos.  I {heart} him!!!!!  and my Lego hair and my Lego outfit :)

*****

3.  my bifold 1980's closet door {behind my man child} in my dining room is GONE!  And to make me smile even more... in it's place is a wonderful french door with glass knobs.  I LOVE glass knobs!
 I was gonna hire it done- then my hunky husband got the drill, switched the hinges, & I hugged his neck!!!  I LOVE it!!

*****

4.  I got a cow.....
I know you are nervous for me??
Don't be.  I LOVE HER.

*****

 I call her "Gerdie".

{I'm back from the mountains...}

{me & my bible study gals}
I {heart} the mountains!  My hair is emotionally allergic to the amount of moisture here in NC right now- I'm serious!  The mountains have NO humidity - can I get an AMEN??  I had an amazing time at the conference.

*****

I took a chalk paint class with the owner of the Maison Blanch paint line..   And even though she is sorta a celebrity- she's a sweetie-pie.  {It was a zillion degrees in the studio.....  hence the big- "State Fair Hair" as my brother calls it.

*****

 Here is the piece I took with me...
 Poor soul I rescued her from a tag sale :)

*****

And here she is in ALL of her glory {whoot whoot}.  Currently she resides on the landing... but I hope to find a more suitable place for her soon.

*****

Y'all... I met Edie!

*****

Like any good southern girl with any sort of home training would do....  I took her a gift.  And Prissy sent one too {no shame I tell you}.  I took her a bag holder for her car & Prissy made her a duct tape purse.  She teared up....  I hugged her neck!!!  She was stunning!  And her "hospitality" session has changed how I view setting a table and making a meal.  I'm not sure if she will ever remember me.. but  I love her even more now!

*****

Then Amanda nudged me.... and pointed to the little pink bag that I had hand stamped the night before...
 Edie had but my little gift next to her up on the stage.
 BE STILL MY HEART!!

*****

But.. by the time Sunday rolled around- I was ready to do laundry and braid hair.  I am a home body and missed the little faces & even though my hair would be sad to leave the mountains ...  I would not be.  I met up with my sweet family in Charlotte to see the Lion King.
  It was AMAZING!!!!!
 I love going to shows with my sweet girl- she's getting big TOO quickly :(

*****

couple of quotes I don't want to forget:
*Prissy begged me to stay home on Friday because "Daddy can't do it alone... he let's us get away with things... he lets us run with sharp objects!"

*A-man's favorite part of Kindergarten "snack time I guess... ?"

*Hardest thing about Kindergarten "Uhm raising my hands to talk & buttoning my pants & keeping my shirt tucked in ALL DAY LONG!"

*A-man had a substitute teacher for the 1st time- he called her his "fake teacher" because his teacher had to "go to a grave yard thing" which I believe translates to a funeral...

*He loved school that day even more because "her gave us lots of chances and it really wasn't a hard day- we didn't have to learn anything."

Becoming....

So... we are in full swing of school.  Getting our routine down.... Getting homework done...  Getting in bed on time...  The kiddos are loving it -more so for the Prissy, but A-man was the "special helper" today so that helped :)  I am getting ready for a super fun weekend away with my Bible Study gals.  We are headed to the mountains to hear some of my VERY FAVORITE bloggers.  I get to meet Edie {cue the scream-but not in a stalker like way... no no, a much more refined southern gentile way...

*****

We are going to this..

*****

I have been making lists to the likes that y'all have never known.  This is the 1st time I'm leaving without Cooner here or my MIL to help man the ship.  But.... Joey has got this {and I have provided a very necessary, but lengthy list of VERY polished women to help him- should the need arise??  While packing & hunting {did I mention that I'm taking a painting class??}.  I came across this desperate soul.

*****

I thought she would be perfect in A-man's kindergarten classroom- cause he doesn't have a window.  His teacher ADORED it!!  And A-man thinks "it's one of my bestest things I ever done".  He makes my heart smile...
{excuse the pics.. my camera is packed and these are pictures of pictures from my phone}

*****

And since Prissy's teacher is also the Art teacher...  I made her this little chalkboard.  She ADORED it too :)

*****

Now I'm off to be filled to the brim with-
 creativity, frugality, hospitality, humility, & cheesecake!!!
{in no particular order}

1st day of school 2013

So.... I we made it through the 1st day of school.  THANK YOU for your prayers, texts, & calls throughout the day :)  It was an emotional roller coaster.  A-man begged me to stay home {insert sigh and tears}... but he can be bought with doughnuts  & loved his Star Wars backpack.... So he did finally get in the car :)

*****

I opted for NO eye makeup so excuse this picture.  But... Joey insisted and I am in so few with the kiddos that I didn't protest....

*****

I knew she was gonna be okay once we opened up her locker jewelry i.e.- mirror, cup holder, magnets...  She ADORES 5th grade :)

*****

And... I knew he would be okay once I saw the BIG can of Legos set out for him by his teacher... Did I mention I helped her set up her classroom?  Well... I sorta mentioned that he was a tad nervous & that his love language just happened to be "Legos".  I {heart} her... but not as much as my A-man.  Who incidentally told me that "he missed me and wished he could just stay home & watch Lark Rise to Candleford, & leave his shirt untucked all day long."
  I hugged and kissed his little face right off!!

*****

Here's to hoping it gets easier to let them get big...
 Happy weekend sweet friends!!
