teacher luncheon

Hello lovelies!  I can't believe that days turned into weeks then months....  I could go on and on about how I went to a suspicious site the day before Valentine's day and my computer got herself a nasty virus {which landed her very sick and out of order for weeks}.  Then there's the one about the crazy dance mom mom who lost her mind for a few weeks in March!  Or the best one.. about the nurse who caught a patient then torn her trapeziums muscle and was told "if you could just lay in bed and not use your right arm for 5 days.. you would see exponential improvement" {said the man doctor}.  My life could be a reality TV show!  No lie.  I have some much to catalog around here... Let's start with the teacher's luncheon...

It was a "nautical theme" and fabulous... if I do say so myself.

*****

We had a mimosa bar {with sparkling cider}

*****

I robbed my house blind y'all, painted every canvas I had in the attic {and otherwise} with some sea urchin or another to make this gallery wall.  I have a secret love affair for gallery walls!  After it was all said and done.. I donated the blessed things to our charity auction.  It became love/hate.  They were my sweet creations.. yet had been strewn over my house for months...  I needed to be saved from myself!

V-day 2015

My poor computer has been under the weather {I may or may not have given her a little tiny virus??}.  Any who.. Steve fixed her- PRAISE THE LORD!!

Here's the kiddos' Valentines.

*****

A-man is really not the Valentine kind.  So although we did make his... They are not fancy.  But precious just the same :)

*****

Prissy... on the other hand... takes after me.  We started out with a simple ballet dancer {ha ha}.  Who needed a shirt... So we she made these snowflake skirts.

*****

Then we were ready to add these tags..
Happy Valentine's Day
"tu-tu" you!

*****

But.. I found this V-day necklace and she I decided to add a heart in their hands and a necklace of course!

*****

And we thought we were ready to put them in the envelopes...

*****

But... every ballerina needs tulle & ballet shoes for heavens sake!
... So we added some.  Then we had to put them away because they were close to getting hair and makeup - YIKES!

the little things.. that I love about him!

On Thursday nights...  Joey picks Prissy up from ballet and I take the trash out.

I hate the trash (it's menfolk work) but I do it...  EVERY Thursday night.

And... EVERY Thursday night- my Ashton talks to me from the front door.

I never say "go talk to me  because I'm scared and it's dark!"

I just say "it's time for me to take the trash".

Tonight... Like EVERY Thursday.  I opened the garage, mustered my courage (I am after all afraid though I dare not say it) and run with the can to the end of the driveway...  All the way hearing him..

"Hi mommy, I see you mommy, don't fall, good job!"

It actually hurts, the way I love him

date days... with my boys!

Today... Joey and I had our date day.  One day out of the month he is off during the week for A WHOLE DAY :)  I LOVE date days.  He takes the kids to school, I stay home and do some chores, then we spend the rest of the day together.

*****

This am I finished up 2 more cloches...
which brings my total to 56!
I am only 2 wine glasses away from the promised land- hallelujah .

*****

Then I decided to paint over a quirky print
that I had in the attic for the luncheon too.
Turned out pretty cute and it was FREE :)

*****

Then.....  the school called :(
On the other end I hear
"Mommy, uhm hello... this is Ashton.  Mommy my stomach hurts."

*****

So.. like ones gone mad we jumped in the car to get our precious!  He looked okay.  I felt his head- no fever.  But {against Joey's advice} we stopped at the Peds office for a flu swab {it's the nurse in me...}.  While at the Ped's office he went to potty... the longest pee pee in the world.  "A-man" I asked "when was the last time you went potty?"  "Well... the door, you know the only one with a door Mommy?  It is out of order in the boys bathroom.. so I held it."

*****

I'm happy to report I think we have a little case of:

I drank my entire water bottle.
I held my pee pee all day.
My daddy is home today.
My nose is a little runny.
And.. my daddy is home all day today!

*****

Which brings me to this...
My boy- he got up early to find this last Friday.  He didn't.  He asked me to look.  I did... and found it.  I was so excited I wanted to go to school.  I didn't.  I waited until after school.  He saw it on the counter.  He hugged me neck.  Then he said...  and it makes me tear up just to write this.  "Mommy... I'm gonna call you everyday when I'm grown!"

I cried.  I committed that little voice and those circumstances surrounding the declaration to my memory FOREVER. Then I thought about him.  About how he hears me ask Joey.. "When was the last time you called your mom?  How is she?"  And the "I think she would love to hear from her son" talks that I frequently give around here.  My A-man... he hears these little talks.  He had picked up on the whole moms-like-to-hear-from-their-boys mantra.
