"Holy-weens from our past..."

~WARNING~
this is a LONG one... but I want the kiddos to someday see ALL of these good times too!!!

Josey's 1st Halloween 2003:

Josey with our 2 sweet little neighbor girls:
~Morgan & Paisley~
(I remember them always saying "Ms. Ashly can we come over & see what Josey is wearing today?"- they loved all of her pretty clothes!!!!
)

(Priss wearing her 1st Tu Tu that I had ever made. I stuffed those tights to make her some LONG ballerina legs)- she just greeted the trick-or-treaters, but she looks SOO PRECIOUS!!!!

Halloween 2004:

(YES.....I took the easy route & bought a costume- she was really into Dumbo & I must say..
she looks really sweet. We took her trick-or-treating for the 1st time & she LOVED it!!!)

Halloween 2005:

(thanks to my MIL Jean who bought me my 1st sewing machine- I made her entire Little Bo Peep outfit complete with a little sheep-bag to hold her treats)

I made this little outfit (with Cooner's help)- here she is headed out to her music class to pass out these little popcorn-ball-ghosts!!!

Halloween 2006:

" Li'l Bride"- complete with high heels (of course), a train, an up-hair-do, a veil, & gloves... This one made me a little sad- she looked SO grown!!! I know that she will make a BEAUTIFUL bride someday.... (there is something about making a wedding veil for your child that makes you cry....)

this is her waiting for her friend to come over & go trick-or-treating with us!!!
(guess she got her patience from me- whoops!!)

this is her forgiving Hannah for being late-
(they were so cute together- holding hands ALL night long)

these were my 1st attempt @ custom overalls (they turned out super cute- complete with a little tail in back that wiggled when she walked... so PRECIOUS!!!!)

p.s. A-man was on the way!!!!!!!!

Halloween 2007 "and then there were 2":

~Ariel & Sebastian~
that year I dressed them alike- they always wore matching brother & sister outfits so I think that ya'll expected it... didn't you???

she was SOOO proud of her costume from our Disney trip- she wanted to wear it again!!!

He really didn't care, but I think he looked absolutely adorable in that little crab suit..

It was a VERY cold Halloween so he went home with his daddy after the club house party & greeted the trick-or-treaters!!! I slipped home to help get him out of his costume... He "drooled" over all the fun costumes- ha ha!!!

We met up with Hannah (another Ariel)- we had no idea that they were both going to be Ariel? They told everyone that they were "twin-sister-Princesses!"!!!

Halloween 2008:

She really wanted to be a Nurse (and I secretly was delighted to make that wish come true..)! I found these princess scrubs @ the uniform shop & they looked perfect- compete with a stethoscope, a badge with her name (MANDATORY), & tons of stickers & bandages (all of which were gone VERY quickly to all the "patients" @ the club house!!)

He got to actually wear something that belonged to his sister (GASP)!!! He had NEVER heard of a "hand-me-down" since ALL of his sister's clothes (including pj's & blankets) were pink & purple!!! I loved this little Dumbo just as much as the 1st time around.

NOTE: this is NOT a padded costume friends-
he is ALL home grown!!!

~My Harris Boys~

o-ya & complete with PINK & PURPLE
hair highlights!!!! "I think every nurse gets her hair done Momma" were her thoughts on why we needed some of these!!!!

Halloween 2009:

Ladies & Gentleman I give you:
~Princess Leia & Yoda~

Princess Leia accepting her award for:
"Best Halloween Hair"

Yoda accepting his award for:
"Best Over All Costume"

posing for pictures after the awards......
(I got a little misty eyed during the ceremony of course- I'm such a water-head!!!!)

Princess Leia- after completing her costume with
her light-up mask & lightsaber...

p.s. we can't wait to see what tonight holds.... I'll let ya'll see the action tomorrow!!!

Happy
Holy-ween!!!!

"the walkathon & a gypsy..."

Today A-man & I helped with the Walkathon- it was a HUGE success {our PA president Kristen is awesome :: great job sweet friend!!!}! My kiddos had a ball- here are some pics from our busy day...

{this is the little face I was looking for ALL morning...}

{this is the A-man rethinking his thoughts on "would you not have me get paint on my face".

Prissy on the other hand... took FULL advantage of the face painting booth... I think she got 6 things!!!

A-man prancing around... He was such a little cutie today!!!
{his pockets were completely FULL of rocks & still are- he couldn't have been happier!!!}

p.s. 2 months ago I promised Priss that I would make Lanie a costume to match hers {after all- it is her 1st Halloween}.... So {determined to let my "yes" be "yes"}... I finally took to my sewing room this afternoon....

{I think Lanie looks precious- but I must say... her mother looks even better!!!}

{and we couldn't leave Lucy Danyell out- she "wanted" to be a cheerleader this year- and that was perfectly alright with me cause we already had that costume!!}

now... I gotta run & finish some last minute things up for the big night!!!!!

"no tricks..."

just treats!!!!! Today A-man is having a little "Celebration of Fall" party in his class- so I made these little goodie trays {and I couldn't leave out Prissy's class now could I??}. I added in some festive erasers onto her tray {7 yr olds LOVE them.. believe me}!!!

& a few spooky spider rings should do the job for his little buddies!!!
+
I thought their teachers might need a little bit of fall decor for their desks so I made them some "School-Pride-Pumpkins"!!!

p.s. sorry I've been a bit out of touch with the blog lately... This whole Momma thing keeps me busy BUSY!!!!!!

...and I found this little note last night hanging in my sewing closet... it's from my Priss {who on some days I truly believe loves me like Cooner does- that sorta Kindred Spirit LOVE that you get from your besties}. I'm not sure if you can make it out... it says "I love you, don't forget that!". I {heart} her!!!!!

"3 little things..."

{one of the MANY dance recitals that Prissy performed for me during my bed rest with the A-man...}

... I keep forgetting to tell ya'll 3 things! But 1 is much more important than the others.... One little darlin' girl {and I get to say that because I live in the south- ha ha}, who has been dancing for about 4 years now, was finally able to try out for a part for the winter recital a few weeks back... and.... she got a part!!!!!!!! She was very pleased to get the call & has been dancing her little tutu off every weekend ever since @ practice. I was reluctant to have her try out {I didn't want her heart to be broken if she didn't get a part}, but her daddy said "it would be good for her & she may try out if she wanted to". I guess you know the rest of the story- only let me tell you that on that certain Saturday of try outs- {when I was @ work... I couldn't breath & I had ALL of my patients praying for the little one that I had fixed a ballet bun for that morning @ 5:30 before I left...}. I think it was "good medicine" letting them think about something else besides their condition & the Lord knows I couldn't talk about much besides that anyways.... I'm now on the look out for any 1920's children's clothing {let me know if you have any/or suggestions"}????

and on a completely different note... I fell in love "Mrs. Meyer's" products when I first saw them @ a fancy home store down town... Then T.J Maxx had some & I scooped up a few bottles for me & for gifts.... NOW Wal-Mart {and I keep forgetting to tell you} is starting to carry them!!! So go get some- they will NOT disappoint {my very favorite is Baby Blossom & Lemon Verbena- they make your house smell wonderful & they are non-toxic}.

and cause this post has a mind of it's own... Big Lots now carries Paul Deen box mixes. I found them there about a month ago {although I have only tried the muffins- BOTH blueberry & chocolate were FANTASTIC}, Catherine says the cookies are yummy too!!! Alright I think that's enough rambling for the day...

did I mention that
I'm the PROUD mother of what's gonna be the cutest little "wild rabbit" ya'll will have ever seen {the Velveteen Rabbit recital is December the 11th for all you NC folks}?????

"I've been dying to see...

... some pics from the "Tina Time" Photo shoot this week {so I grabbed this "sneak peek" from her blog}. I think it went VERY well- my job is much less stressful than taking the actual photos & editing.... I'll show you more soon... THANKS TINA!!!!!!! I can't wait to do it again very soon.... you are an awesome Boss Lady.

and... Bailey, Lizzy, & Katherine - you are 3 of the coolest chics I know!!!! THANKS for wearing all of the outfits & accessories with NO complaints {your mothers are very blessed to have you!!}!!!
HAVE A SPLENDID
WEEKEND...
