{Cowboy & Indian party-prep..}

{just some of what I've collected over the past year}
Count down to the Cowboy & Indian party has begun!  "Only 10 more sleeps Momma!" has been said around here more than once today :)  I have a million things to accomplish before the party & ballet rehearsals are beginning to get crazy too.  Although I have been known to cut things out in the parking lot {I have NO shame or finger prints at this point- thanks to my industrial glue gun}. Today I finished making the stick horses..... So CuTe!!!!!  Here are a few little other projects I've been doing in my spare time....

*****

What Cowboy party would be complete without mustaches on a stick?  I made these mustache patterns and cut them out of black poster board.

*****

Poster board {already had on hand = FREE}, dowel rods {had from another project = FREE}, models {I grew & you CAN NOT have = PRICELESS}!!!

*****

I picked these little frames up at a tag sale - whole box for 50 cents.

*****

I painted them all out red with craft paint, then distressed them.  I think some cute chalkboard messages would be fun... and once again- very CHEAP!

*****

Also cause we are gonna have us some Indians in our midst....

*****

and they'll be a  needn' somethin' to put their arrows in....  And a pattern for a quiver was NOT to be found.  I bought a pair for fake suede pants for $1.00 @ a consignment shop.  And was able to get 8 quivers out of them :)

*****

I hope to get back here soon for more party updates.... but then again- baseball, volleyball, school, and  ballet have us sorta busy!  Later Cowpokes!!!

{Cowboy & Indian Party invitation..}

I can hardly believe that my sweet, darling, rowdy but gentle, brown-eyed baby boy is about to be turning 6 {enter sign and deep breath...}.  But he is!  No matter how hard I try an stop it... they grow.  This year in pure Harris fashion we are planning a party to rival only those who take parties to our level???  And it's gonna be a doozie!!!  He has chosen "Cowboys & Indians- cause he's a tad bit of a Lego nut and the new Lone Ranger Legos come out this month {hint hint on gift ideas for whomever wants help i.e.- Cooner}.  My beautiful house looks more like the Old West Frontier meets the O.K. Corral.  But I wouldn't have it any other way!!!

*****

First off on the list {a VERY long list}- the invitations.
 Which included a little photo shoot...
 which I loved!!!

*****

In the end...
 we settled on this one!
Isn't he the cutest little sheriff Y'all have ever seen?
 YES he is!!!

*****

Then my savvy sidekick Tonto Joey made this precious poster.

*****

Then I printed them off at Staples {cause we are ALWAYS out of ink}.
And I rolled them up with some jute :)

*****

... but NOT before I cut them out a little jaggedly and rubbed the edges with furniture polish.  I know y'all aren't surprised.  Even Joey didn't say a word when he saw me gloved up in the kitchen... he expects such things from me :)

Okay partners.... I'm off to work on the menu- wish me luck!
YEEEE- HAAAWWWWWW!!!!
