H-E-L-L-O....

Hello.... is this thing one?  I'm so sorry to be out of touch.... but life proved to be even busier than normal {if that is possible} this past week.  **UPDATES** My sweet husband is home- hallelujah!!!  I ran the "BLUE Run for Remembrance" Memorial Day with my bible study gals- SO AWESOME.  Prissy has now graduated to "Garnets" in ballet- Yeah!!  And the A-man graduated 4yr old pre-school- Yeah & BOO!

*****

... but he was the cutest little guy there!!!  They sang about the fruits of the spirit... love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness & self-control.  I died laughing because his class did- SELF-CONTROL....  They were the last group to go & boy-o-boy did they have Self-Control!!!

*****

We busted out the water slide from Prissy's 3rd b-day.... It STILL works!  And I have a feeling it's gonna stay out most of the summer....

*****

We cooked out with some of our besties......
I {heart} this kid.  We are SO blessed to have such precious friends with such precious kids to do life with!!!

*****

And these 2 are pretty much clones of each other. SCARY & SWEET all at once!!!!!!

*****

Thankfully.... tomorrow ALL I have on the books is... Awards Day Ceremony, Orthodontics Appt, A-man's check-up, finish up distressing & deliver a piano stool that I'm doing for a girlfriend, Termite inspection on the house, re-wrap my neighbor's shoulder {who broke it last week}, & Church....

ballet, birthday, and book characters...

We made it through the Spring recital @ Prissy's ballet company- CPAC.  It was super sweet and wonderful.  The girls {and other back stage mommas} spent all of Saturday doing tech support, fixing buns, doing make-up, mending tutus, & all the while encouraging "smiling"!!  But... she did AWESOME & it was worth every minute!!!

*****

Isn't she precious?  YES- she is!!!

*****

I am SO proud of my little prima ballerina.  I am trying to saver these moments of her childhood- holding on to every one of the "momma stay with me" and "momma will you be there to help me change?" and "MOMMA- oh I didn't see you!" moments...

*****

I wish I could say that her little brother was as equally enthralled with the Spring Showcase... But, he was ripped from his bed {hence the hairstyle- Cooner} & dragged to the theater by his Daddy- only to have to sit quietly for 2 hrs....  But in the end- he was very patient & he did clap really hard for his Prissy {I'm sure it helped that I had a little Lego stashed for him}!!

*****

Did I mention that she was wonderful?
 She was!!!
I cried & clapped then cried & clapped some more!!!

*****

Also... we celebrated "summer Birthdays" with her class this week.  It was the 1st time that a teacher had asked if we wanted to?  "Uhm.. YES of course we want do"  was our reply!  So Prissy & Mazy {one of her besties who just happens to be born 1 week before her} celebrated in style with an ice cream social!!!  The kiddos loved it!!!!

*****

And... our school had their last Spirit Day of the year- {Favorite Book Character}.  Prissy went as "Fancy Nancy"- and Ooh La La was she ever fancy!  She even pulled out the Nancy lingo... I {heart} Fancy Nancy- if you haven't checked out the book series... we HIGHLY recommend it!  My s-i-l keeps us stocked with all of Nancy's adventures & we adore {that's fancy for like a lot} them!!!  "Au Revoir"- {that's how Nancy would want us to tell y'all bye!!}

to my daughter...

..who is a smidgen of a hypochondriac! But whom I adore with ALL of my being!!!!

We are crazy busy these days with endings--- friends leaving {breaks my heart to a degree that I cannot express}, school ending {and the tests & programs & parties that go along with that}, ballet ending {and the practices, dress rehearsals, wardrobe fixes, & parties that go along with that}, soccer ending {not really so much to do- boys are EASY!!}, & just plain old life stuff!!!  I have much to share, but for now I must leave you wanting more......

teacher gifts...

Did y'all know that this week is- Teacher Appreciation & Nurses Week!!  Happy Nurses Week to ALL my sisters on 2-Neurology and my BFF Kristy & Happy Teachers Appreciation to ALL of my kiddos teachers & my SIL Michelle!!!  This year we took the easy way out- gift cards for the teachers {a collective project from several students=BIG blessing}.  But.... I wanted to do something little just from us to show them how much they are appreciated.... but I needed 10!!!  So I decided to put a spin on an old idea.....  I'm hoping they like theirs as much as I {heart} mine!!!

*****

I made plastic bag holders for the car- am I the only one that uses 10 a week.... wet swimsuits, trash bags, Lego containers, extra market bags {when the one you get is busted}, & my favorite- PUKE bags!!!

*****

I usually recycle aluminum foil rolls {they are a bit more sturdy than paper towel rolls}, but again I needed 10!  Then I remembered the multi purposes of PVC pipe.  I have more curtains hanging by the stuff than I care to mention....  So I scooted to Lowes found a piece for $2.00 & had them cut it into [10] foot long pieces for me {free}....

*****

Next I picked out some pretty paper from Michaels {on sale- 5 sheets for $1.00}.

*****

Then I sanded the rough edges off of the tubes, measured the paper, & taped it ALL the way around with clear box tape {this protects it from wear & tear}.  Then I finished them up with pretty ribbon & some fresh plastic bags of course!

*****

Finally I put a little "Thank You" tag on each & personalized them a bit!  There ya have it- functional, cute, & as if that's not enough-
I think $3.00 for 10 gifts is pretty fantastic!

*****

HAPPY TEACHER'S APPRECIATION
Special "Thank You" to Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Caddell, & Mrs. Archer.  You have been so wonderful this year!!!
&
NURSES WEEK!!!!

a little housekeeping...

I'm so sorry for the delay.... life just keeps going even with fevers, EOGs, work, Ballet recital practices, & motherhood!  We have had so much lately, that I don't even know where to start... but y'all know I'll try {wink wink}!

******

First- we have taken Lego building to an entirely new level!  THE DEATH STAR & it's over 3,000 pieces has consumed our dining room..

*****

..but we are 1/2 way done!  BIG "THANKS" to Uncle Heath for helping us last night &
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!

*****

We put out a garden, or raised bed actually with Papaw.  The kiddos are SO excited & I'm praying that we get a tomato or at least 1 cuc.

*****

Although they say talking to your plants wills them life- and if that's the case.....  Prissy is gonna have a "harvest of PLENTY"!  I LOVE her& her genuinely sweet spirit!

*****

And speaking of plants- I got one for the inside too!  I hear that they are therapy to the soul & they give me pleasure & they look pretty in the living room, & this one sorta looks succulent-y {and that's WAY popular these days}.  This particular one is suppose to boost your healthy Antioxidant levels in your home??  That I cannot be sure, but it looks pretty & psychological or not- we are feeling better these days...

*****

I found this armoire at a second hand store while my parents were in town.  I wish I had taken a before shot- I tend to go a tad crazy when I get in "work-mode" especially when I need to get it painted & carried upstairs. {Hence the need to expedite the process daddy & Joey lifting & not me!!!}

*****

It now resides in Prissy's room- filled to the brim with: American Girl Stuff, craft supplies, & other random "Must Haves".  Picture this in country blue with ducks.... now visualize a price tag that says $20.00.  Y'all would have scooped it up wouldn't ya?  I need to finish the inside of the doors.  I want to turn them into cork board to pin-up pictures & keepsakes.

*****

Hope y'all are enjoying these temps- we are headed to the pool this afternoon!!!!
