our construction & my sandals....

Hello my sweet friends....  we have been ridiculously busy around here with L-I-F-E.  Prissy started ballet {including hip hop for the 1st time} last week and I think she's found her niche- ha ha!

*****

A-man is LOVING Pre-K & making new friends right and left.

*****

And the air condition is fixed.... but in the process they messed up the sheet rock in 3 rooms so... we have been under construction here is Harris House!  But... the ceilings look fresh & pretty so that sorta off sets ALL of the white dust!  SORTA!!!!  And I mentioned to the repair crew that I would like the master mirror {weighing in at about 200 lbs} removed as well while they were here....  Need-less-to-say- this is what my bathroom looks like right now.

*****

But I am hoping for something like this very soon.... Minus the tile and the cute sconces and the fancy trim and the fancy faucets and the cute chair.... Okay maybe not quite exactly like this but..... similar!!!!

Catherine told me about these Sseko sandals last week. Their story is nothing less than wonderful!  I fell in love with them! Last night my sweet girl told me that she had ordered a pair for me {she heard me tell Catherine I wanted the grey ones}.  I cried my eyes out... she spent all of her saved money on her Momma {I felt just like Caroline Ingals when Laura traded Bunny for a stove}.  Then Prissy said "You are right Momma it feels better to give than receive- I feel like I just got a present too!"  More tears came then....  I love her more than I can convey on this little blog y'all!!!!!!  Go check 'em out here!

dollar deals.....

Joey likes to jokes that "we are going broke saving money".  But... I tend to look at it as- we have saved an amazing amount of money from my "treasure hunting".  I spend on average about $1.oo a day at these said "consignment/tag sale/estate sale/Good Will" hunts. And sometimes that could mean an entire bag or maybe a book or maybe nothing.... It is after all the thrill of the hunt- I always have a list in my head!  It's a sickness- ha!  Here are a few of my latest dollar deal finds...

*****

I have a love for vintage table linens....  I should be ashamed, but I'm not!
I couldn't resist this little table cloth- $1.oo

*****

I {also} have a fetish for anything tiffany blue.... Cooner feeds into this sickness.  I love this little blown glass ball {from Cooner}- $0.25 cents

*****

...and I'm a sucker for cute vases- $0.75 cents

*****

I fell in love with this hot spinach artichoke dip served in a tiny iron skillet in Charlotte.  We went to the most wonderful little cafe called "The Dandelion Cafe"- YOU MUST TRY IT... IT IS WONDERFUL!!!  Anyway I have been spying a tiny skillet since- found one- $1.oo

*****

and I NEVER leave my Hubby out. After all... he is SO supportive of my treasure hunting- ha ha.  I found this little Anthropologie coffee mug for $1.oo

*****

And speaking from a woman with a hubby recovering from hernia surgery....  lifting the kiddo's kitchen up and down from the attic ain't fun!  I snatched this little cutie up for $2.oo and it fits perfectly in the pantry- where it gets used about every night!

*****

And the kiddos- they make out like bandits!  I scored these dress-up bracelets for my Prissy- $1.oo.  But... I think I might actually be borrowing 1 or 2 soon?? {If you have a little girl- you should be adding to a dress-up box of your own- SO FUN!!  Our collection is a bit of a masterpiece if I do say so!}

*****

A-man is usually with me on my adventures... I got this little pirate tent {new in the box} for $1.oo (it retails for over $75.oo)

*****

And I am always looking for Legos... I found a shoe box filled with mix match Legos {I just wash them and add them to the big box under his head}.  But this particular find I knew looked a little "Star Wars-y" - I must admit I know more than I should about the force and the galaxy!  I recognized some pieces and scooped it up for $0.75 cents- SCORE.  This little guy is apparently rare and I am Queen of this castle- YET AGAIN!!

*****

p.s.  notice the 2 backpacks.....  tomorrow my little A-man starts Pre-K!  I'm teary but he is pumped and that makes it a teeny bit easier.  More to come......

Happy
   Hunting!!!

ordinary things...

seem so wonderful once they are gone!  This week has been one trial after another {which I am trying to remain thankful in, but keep coming up short}.  Our car had some issues {NOT covered under the new car warranty}, Prissy's school shoes came in the mail {late} in 2 different sizes, our air condition stopped late Friday then died completely on Sunday {the new unit that will be here in 10 MORE days}, & I am just getting back to the upright position from a little battle of the stomach bug...  It's amazing how God is a whisper away when you are on the very verge!  And it's amazing how understanding you become when your children are looking at you as to react themselves!

*****

But in the end.... I am doing SO much better than I deserve & my precious husband brought home this last night!  Did y'all know that window units could look so chic {wink wink}.

*****

And my sweet Priss bought some new pipe cleaners last night to make these bracelets for her class.  She carefully chose the colors that the girls liked & made each one custom.  I wrapped them up pretty for her when she went to bed.  I heard her when she found them this morning.... so worth my efforts!!!!

*****

Today... I'm gonna enjoy the rain & play with my little A-man.
  He starts Pre-K next week {poor me}!!!

welcome to 4G

....Yesterday my sweet girl started 4th grade{gasp}!   It was bitter sweet...  She seemed big & small all at the same time.  She had packed and re-packed her book bag about 8 times the day before {wanting to make certain ALL was in place for the BIG day}.  I think her new teacher is the perfect fit for the class {and Prissy loves her cute dresses & jewelry- ha}.  I decided Wednesday night to make the 1st day of 4G a "yes" morning.  When she asked to take more snacks than humanly possible to eat... I heard myself say "YES"!  When she asked for a squirt of perfume & if she could wear lip gloss?  I said "YES" again.  When she asked if I could curl her hair like for picture day?  I smiled {knowing that she is growing up} & plugged in the curlers!  Then she asked if I could ask Mrs. Z a few questions that she didn't want to ask {where do I keep my water bottle, am I allowed to have extra markers, can my mom do recess once a week}?  So I said "YES" {of course} yet again. Finally when A-man & I left her.... I squeezed her neck & she whispered in my ear- "Momma you'll be back to get me right?"  "YES" I whispered back........ with a lump in my throat!

*****

So when the A-man asked {after 2 hrs of errands including the market without a toy aisle} for this when we stopped at a tag sale on the way home....  I said "YES" even without thinking!  We were sad without our sweet Prissy & needed some retail therapy- ha!  He rode that thing for an hour when we got home....

*****

Then we picked Prissy up. She said the best part of 4G is that Mrs. Z loves arts & crafts!  I chuckled as I listened to every little detail.  It made me realize that we were gonna miss her even more tomorrow...

*****

So... I let Prissy & A-man help {stirring in EVERY last ingredient- YIKES} me made blueberry granola bars!  This is all that is left after last night & lunches today....  They LOVED them!

*****

I took this one of HM and Prissy yesterday...
{precious to the core- I tell you!}

*****

Here they are in Kindergarten
{couldn't ya just kiss their little cheeks off!}

*****

Then in 1st...

*****

And in 2nd

*****

Then in 3G
