"Twas the night before Kindergarten....

and all through the house.  Not a creature was stirring... not even my spouse- he he.  He could sleep through anything- no matter how sad or heartbreaking the situation might be.  

I wish I were a smidgen more like him....

 but clearly...

 I am not.

{A-man on his 1st day of Pre-school}
I have packed and repacked their lunches {snack for man child} he dare not stay all day yet.  I get one more year of eating lunch with him!  PRAISE JESUS for 1/2 day Kindergarten & teacher that is precious.  Prissy had the same one.  I {heart} her!

I pressed and repressed 2 uniforms tonight.  I think extra creases on their sleeves makes people see that they are adored by someone... And that's my Grandma Sissy coming out of me- "queen of the iron" she was.  They don't make that kind anymore sadly.  

But not to worry... 

I am reigning on in her absence.

Tomorrow we will be doing the traditional doughnuts before the 1st day thing, paparazzi before, at, & after school.  I can't wait to share.  I've been at school a A LOT this week helping the teachers move into their new classrooms and organizing {my favorite thing- no kidding. I would have loved decorating my classroom if I had been a teacher}.  And let's just say I have all of my parent service hours done and we are just getting the school year started.  

We are blessed to have our school, the headmaster, the teachers....

 I wonder if they know how blessed they are to have my little ones?

I miss them already... I wonder if Kindergarten needs an assistant?

p.s.  The little A-man has been very anxious about the whole having to wear a belt thing at school....

 So I made one :)  that may or may not be regulation... It sorta snaps on- no over-rated little bar to have to carefully put in a teeny tiny hole all the while wondering if you remembered to latch the stall door :( kind ...

and speaking of doing for the ones ya love- Papaw made this fabulous custom Lego shelf for A-man when they were here.  It is WONDERFUL & holds tons of his prized possessions....  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!  It makes his room seem ginormous & he adores it!!

They could be found {together always} either out in the garage wood working together or curled up  watching war movies....  I know what can I say???

""Today it is your birthday and we sing to let you know.. that you will be queen for the day- whatever you say goes!""  I have sang that to you my darling girl since we first watched Barbie together many birthdays ago.  And I love how you want to know your birth story every year right afterwards... About how tiny you were... and how beautiful we all thought you were from the very beginning.  You are even more beautiful on the inside & that my dear girl is what I'm most proud of!  

* you have the sweetest spirit of any one I have ever known

* you have the funnest personality- and sadly my joke telling abilities {Daddy & I die laughing when we recap you and your mannerisms nearly every night- hilarious}

* you have such compassion and a giving heart that it makes me want to cry & be a much more cheerful giver!

* you were born singing and have NEVER stopped.  your voice is endearing to me & to all who hear it

* your style rivals that of pros and I would honestly wear most things you pick out

* you are a born artist & your little touches add "the cherry on top" to anything you touch

* you love cheesecake {almost as much as your Momma}

* you would rather watch My Fare Wedding than Duck Dynasty

* you have worn out 3 pairs of ballet shoes this year & are a joy to watch on stage

* you can swim like a mermaid {and I can still hear you praying to be one when you were 3}

* you never really love to sweat, but would be willing to go on a family run if I go {loyal I tell you}

* you are very complimentary & that is such a wonderfully rare quality to possess at 10 much less.. 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, or even 2

I have no doubt that one day you will be a star. You already are mine!  I wish you the best birthday ever my darling & more happiness than any girl deserves.  I love you more today than any momma ought to be allowed and I always will!!!!!!

{with a heavy heart..}

I covet your prayers.  Yesterday Genevieve went to be with Jesus after fighting a rather short battle with breast cancer.   God's ways are always best- this I know, but do not pretend to understand.  I was not scheduled to work, yet I went in {by mistake- not really a mistake at all.  It was God doing what He does best.  He perfectly orchestrated me being there with Gen and Phil.  Holding her hand & promising that I would hug my darlings much longer when I got home}.   She was brave, smart, sweet, beautiful, kind, a mother to 2 darling girls {4 & 6}, a true friend, only 34, with gorgeous hand writing, but mostly a lover of Jesus!  I miss her face at our weekly group already & my heart is broken for everyone of us who knew her.  We are ALL better for having known her- so much better.  She taught us to be thankful in the mundane & for that I will never be the same.

We've had the usual BUSY week... but lots of fun too!!  We pulled off a spectacular Ooh La La French inspired SuRpRiSe Double 10th Birthday Party for Prissy & her bestie.

When Joey {finally} got to the pool with the birthday girls... they were speechless!  Prissy thought it was a surprise party for Hannah Mae.   When she realized it was for her....  she whispered "Momma quick fix my hair!"  I {heart} her even more today than when she first squeezed my finger in hers!!!

The food was Ooh- La-La too.  I made the 2 chalkboard "favorite things" for the girls...  So precious & Prissy has made a home for hers in her room!

We had pool games that the girls loved.  Their favorite = tissue paper dress contest.  We divided the group & gave them 2 rolls of crete paper.  They picked the "model" then designed a dress in 3 minutes totally out of crete paper- FANCY!!!!
