"love thy neighbor..."

Last night, as I was making dinner, I listened to the sweet sound of my children playing & realized that "these are the best times of my life!!". I began to think less & less about how sad that I am that today is the last day of summer & how tomorrow is the first day of 2nd grade for Priss.... {It's funny how you can see something like 2 brothers walking to the pool- whose mother just happens to be fighting for her life battling cancer- who just happens to be in the hospital right now}- (if you're the praying kind... PLEASE pray for that family)... It made me think a little less about me & a little more about how I can somehow make their lives a little better today. I whipped up some brownies.... {and added some toffee bits}!

Then I looked @ them & remembered the m&ms in the pantry......

Then I added a handful {or 3... cause I can & I know Tyler & Trevor won't mind!!!}

Then I kissed my kiddos a few more times than usual & worried less about the things that usually consume me & gave God more glory for ALL that He has given me. I asked Priss 3 things that she wanted to thank Jesus for. She instantly spouted out "well... for You, for Daddy, for Lucy & Lanie, & for Brother- {I love her priorities}. Then I asked A-man the same thing... He said "I love Papaw, I love Jaylee kay, I love Tucker, I love Cooner, I love Mommy, I love Daddy, I love Prissy, I love Papaw {he usually goes on & on.. over & over with whomever he's just recently been around}. Then I was reminded that my God is the author of miracles {I was in the company of 2 right there}- so I prayed blessings over my neighbors & that God would do a miracle for that young mother of 3!!!!!!

p.s. I have decided to make this a daily tradition {thanks for the idea Opal} & take time out EVERYDAY for thanksgiving to God for @ least 3 things that He has done for us. Priss has decided to keep a record of her "thankfulnesses" as she calls them!!!!!

  1. What a great idea, Ashly! I am going to try this too. And I'll pray for the family you mentioned also.

  2. I forgot to mention that I "pushed" a few on top after I took them out of the oven, but while they were still warm- they sunk right in- {that makes them look prettier} YUMMY!!!!!
